Tokyo Verdy win fourth consecutive Japanese title

The team from Tokyo beat Solmarpraia Okinawa in the final


Okura Beach in the city of Akashi, Hyogo hosted the JFA 17th Japan Beach Soccer Tournament between the 9 and 11 September.  After two years of interruption due to the Covid19 pandemic, the competition returned and saw Tokyo Verdy retain the title for the fourth consecutive time.

On their way to the final, the team led by Ozu beat BSC Akashi Areia 5-1, Averdade Kumamoto BS 7-6 and Dorsole Yukuhashi 9-1.

In a reedition of the 2019 final, Tokyo Verdy faced Sol Mar Praia Okinawa and took the lead three minutes into the game with a free-kick converted by Tanaka Hayate. Goalkeeper Kawai Yusuke would score twice before Tanaka Hayate also scored his second goal. Okinawa would make it 4-1 but Takagushi would seal the deal scoring the 5-1.
