We love beach soccer, and of course we love beach soccer events, but we love responsible and sustainable beach soccer events even more!
We must look after the wonderful world that we explore through our spectacular sport. If we don’t, it won’t be there for much longer. On top of that, we must also do everything we can to support people within our international community.
The Beach Soccer Foundation is our vehicle to make a difference in five main areas:
Gender Equality: The women’s game is growing across the sporting spectrum, and beach soccer is one of the best examples to witness this. With an impressive increase in women’s events in recent years, as well as the number of female players and a visible boost in standard, we must do everything we can to nurture this growth.
Community Support: Traditionally we have done this through beach soccer clinics for disadvantaged people in the locations of the events, and additionally more recent developments include the formation of the Working Group, which works, in part, to financially support players and community members who have suffered from inactivity following the Covid-19 pandemic. *
Sustainability: One of our responsibilities is raising awareness of how the environment is impacted by human activity, while promoting sustainable ways to live our beach soccer lives, while recycling, reducing plastic use and organising events such as beach clean-ups.
Skin Cancer Awareness: Spending so much time in hot countries across the world, everyone involved in beach soccer should be especially aware of the very real danger that the sun can do to our skin, and it is crucial that we use our sport and platforms to play our part in preventing skin cancer.
Youth Development: Young people are the future and, as we are doing in our other missions through the Beach Soccer Foundation, we must look after our future. The medium of sport is an ideal way to inspire the next generation and give them opportunities to succeed. That is what we do in beach soccer.
