Tahiti subdue Holland to stay unbeaten

Two wins by the Tiki Toa over the Orange in Papeete foster the team’s growth, with a third round on Wednesday

The feelings and self-confidence in the Tiki Toa keep getting better and better. The Tahitian National Beach Soccer Team brought on a new amusing performance this weekend, beating one of the new sensations in Europe, the Netherlands, twice. After the brilliant displays over Switzerland and France, Tahiti confirmed against the Dutch that they will be a really fearsome side during the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup they are going to host next September. The duo Zaveroni-Schirinzi at the control room of this national team is producing excellent results?

The games facing Polynesian and European were really tight though, offering an stunning spectacle and high-level beach soccer to widely entertain a once again crowded stands at the Jardis de Paofai.

In the game on Saturday (5-4), Kokmeijer?s side managed to be ahead in the score most of the time after Bennett?s opener for the hosts. The Tiki Toa, though, managed to neutralize the Dutch advantage once and again, to finally step ahead in the last minute to clinch the victory, with the second hit by Lee Fung Kuee. 

In the second match, held on Monday (8-6), things were slightly different. Despite the Netherlanders managed to hit first, through captain Leo Koswal, Tahiti replied to get the game under control. Once they came back that 0-1 and made it 3-1, the Tiki Toa stayed ahead all match long, building advantages the Orange could never cut down.

Wednesday, 16 30 hours (Tahiti time) will see the third encounter, with the Tahitians willing to extend their invincibility run to six consecutive matches.
