Preparation for the 2022 beach soccer season continues with friendlies in Malaga
Two matches were played between Iberian neighbours Spain and Portugal on Wednesday and Thursday in Malaga, on the south Spanish coast.
European champions Portugal won both games.
The first match was tight, with Spain just missing out by a single goal as the final whistle sounded at 3-4.
Day 2 saw a much more aggressive performance by Portugal, who built a 5-0 lead before La Roja could get into the match, which ended in a decisive 3-7.
Portuguese Head Coach, Mário Narciso commented that, “We played against a very strong team physically, with some experienced players and we managed to get the results.”
He added that the stage was, “very important, not only to see the state the players are in, but also to get competitive miles into them, giving them “sand time” after so long without playing.”
