As the game kicked off it was apparent that neither team saw this match as a training exercise, straight away France tried to intimidate but England held their ground. Despite France got in command in the early stages of the contest, that did not unsettle the English side, who battled Les Blues all game long.
The final 6-3 for France was a satisfying enough result for François team, whereas it helped the English side realize what it takes to be a Division A team.
