The capital of Azerbaijan will host in July the event that will qualify four teams for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup UAE 2023
The Beach Soccer Olympic Stadium in Baku, home of the Azeri beach soccer national team will host the European qualifier for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup UAE 2023.
The event will take place between 2 and 9 July and this is the format of the competition:
2-4 July: pre-qualifying stage where teams outside of the top 12 positions in BSWW’s ranking will play for four spots in the group stage.
5-7 July: group stage with the top 12 teams of the BSWW ranking and the four best teams from the pre-qualifying stage divided into four groups of four teams
8 July: Semi-finals and play-offs
9 July: Final and 3rd-16th place play-offs
Joan Cuscó, President of Beach Soccer Worldwide, stated: “We want to thank Baku for hosting this event, as it was not easy to find a venue in such short time. We know that the dates of the event are close to the European Games, which is not ideal, but we do believe that we will have the best possible competition and we are looking forward to have as many European teams as possible competing in the wonderful Beach Soccer Olympic Stadium in Baku.”
