Day one at the Juegos Suramericanos de Playa Rosario 2019 close with everything open at the group stage
Six games and 51 goals give the starting signal at the beach soccer competition of the Juegos Suramericanos de Playa, taking place in Rosario (Argentina).
Paraguay opened the games against a game in which they showcased their beach soccer pedigree against Venezuela, clinching a 5-1 win that gets them on top of the table in Group C, together with Ecuador. The Ticos would punish the Vinotinto with the same exact score, thus getting them out of the race for the medals.
In Group B things are not that clear, yet. Brazil’s narrow win over Uruguay get Gilberto’s side on top of the table, but the Charrúa equaled the 3-points booty after a dramatic win over Chile later on the day. Chile will take on Brazil today, and an eventual win by La Roja would shake things down in the group.
In Group A, hosts Argentina and Colombia sealed the points in their debut in the competition, thanks to their wins over Perú (7-2) and Guyana (7-2). Notwithstanding, things are still open in that group, as the four games remaining could change things drastically.
