The English championship features 16 venues, with the champions of each of them competing in September?s final
England Beach Soccer and Beach Promotions UK announced the schedule for the 2013 edition of the English National Beach Soccer League.
The League commences in Skegness on the 25th May 2013 and will encompass the following locations: Skegness, Portsmouth, Poole, Swansea , IOW, Cornwall, Brentwood, (London), Canterbury, Kent, Bridlington, East Riding, Liverpool, Jersey, Cardiff, Barn Elms, (London), Loughborough.
At each location a full tournament will be held for all regional teams, with the winners being invited to visit the national finals (weekend of September 7th & 8th ) and enter a tournament which will include all the other venues winner?s and runners up teams to play for the title of National Beach Soccer Champions.
The National Champions of this season?s League will obviously be granted the opportunity of representing England next year in the Euro Winners Cup 2014 (this year being held in May in Italy, with Sandown Sociedad). Moreover, a charity match between the champions and England Beach Soccer national side will also be held after the finals.
CEO Gary Shepherd said ?It?s only right that we start the tournament here in Skegness as this is where we hope to make England?s National Team home and where the National Stadium is being built. We?ve had great support from local people and we hope that all of the Lincolnshire Teams consider entering the tournament. The aim of our tour is to bring beach soccer to grass roots level and to increase awareness of the sport.?
David Jones England Team Manager said ?The England Team will be touring Nationally and will be involved with all of the events, at each tournament the winners will have the chance to play against the England Team in an exhibition match. It?s also an opportunity for local players to showcase their talent and there will certainly be scouts looking for potential England players throughout the tour.?
The weekend promises to be an exciting event with a total party atmosphere. There will be beach activities throughout the weekend with a Beach Party on Sunday Night with Bar-B-Que, live music, fashion show and much more!!
The tour then heads o? with tournaments arranged in places such as Portsmouth, Poole, Isle of Wight, Jersey, Swansea, Cardiff, London, Liverpool, Canterbury or Bridlington. Some further locations still to be announced. At each location a full tournament will be held for all regional teams with the winner?s receiving winner?s medals and a cup and the losing ?nalist runners up medals. However the real prize for both the winner?s and the runners up is that they will both qualify for the national ?nals, which will include all the other venues winners and runners up teams (September 7th and 8th).
