Brazil win the 2019 CONMEBOL South American Beach Soccer League

The finals were scheduled for early 2020 but due to the Covid-19 pandemic could only be played this past weekend

Brazil have conquered the 2019 CONMEBOL South American Beach Soccer League title against Ecuador.

The senior and the under 20s national teams of both countries met at the Arena Playa General Villamil in the province of Playas, Ecuador, as winners of the north and south zone to finally decide the title.

The first day of the finals finished with the Seleção leading the tie 6-0 after the under 20s beat La Tricolor 5-3 and the senior team later doing the same with a 11-5 result.

A 4-3 triumph from the Brazilian under 20s on the second day meant the trophy was going back to Brazil, and even though the tie was already won, the senior team didn’t relax and won 13-4, thus sentencing the finals 12-0 for the Brazilians.

The goalkeeper Erivaldo Miranda was the best player in the under 20s finals, while captain Mauricinho led the senior team to glory scoring five goals, the competition’s highest tally, which was also matched by his strike-partner, Rodrigo.

Brazil have won all three editions of the competition played so far, after successes in 2017 and 2018.
