The reigning champions win again as Casa Benfica lead the standings on goal difference
The third round of the opening phase of the Portuguese Elite Beach Soccer Championship took place this Sunday, at Campo de Aguçadoura, in Póvoa do Varzim.
Defending champions SC Braga and Casa Benfica Loures, made it three wins out of three to sit on nine points at the top of the standings.
Braga beat Leixões SC by 7-4 and Casa Benfica Loures overcame the previous unbeaten ACD Sótão by 4-3.
In the other games of the day, Sporting CP bagged their first point against AD Buarcos following tense penalties, following a 2-2 tie after three periods.
In the last game of the day, Varzim SC defeated São Domingos FC by 10-3 to seal their first win of the season.
Buarcos and Sótão sit behind the league leaders on six points, while Varzim and 2020 champions Sporting get off the mark to sit in fifth and sixth. Leixões and São Domingos remain the only clubs yet to earn any points.
