The Azeri and Czech Republic will vie tomorrow in the CFA Belt and Road International Beach Soccer Cup decider
Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic are set to fight for the glory at this CFA Belt and Road International Beach Soccer Cup, following the results of this second day in Haikou.
Hungary got their first points after bending the Czechs after a tight fight. The strike exchange that took place in the first half had the Magyar commanding 3-2 by first break. Lukas Kratochvil equalzied for the Czech Republic in the second frame, leaving everything open for the last period.
But in that closing 12 minutes, the Hungarian side stood still, hitting twice in the last stages to seize the win. Captain Viktor Fekete and Tamas Szentes-Biro made the score 5-3 for the Magyar, which becomes an insufficient win to keep aiming for the title.
Instead, and despite the defeat, the Czechs will have the chance to fight for gold against Azerbaijan tomorrow, although they will need a wide win over the eventual leader.
In the first game of the day, hosts China had to stomach another defeat. The experienced Azerbaijan National Team used a prolific last period to untie the score and clinch the points that keep them atop the table in Haikou.
Despite Bai Fan and Liu Yisi balanced things back for China after the opening 0-2 for Azerbaijan, the men from the Land of fire made sure the points remained with them with a 0-5 run in the last 12 minutes, and will take on Czech Republic knowing that they have everything in their hands to get their hands on the cup tomorrow.
