The red-and-green end Encarnación’s reign in the traditional Paraguayan Women’s National Beach Soccer Championship
Areguá claimed the III Copa de La Mujer de Fútbol Playa, after edging Pilar in the final, held at Guarambé. The hits by Liz Karina Sosa and Vania Escobar decided the final, as last year’s runners-up Pilar could only pull one goal back thanks to María Isnfrán’s effort.
The new champions ended this way with the reign by Encarnación, the team that had won the first two Copa de La Mujer.
In the game for the third place the same exact result than the final (2-1) gave Itaguá the bronze in the competition, over fourth-place finishers Amambay.
Women’s Beach Soccer is more and more vivid every day, with competitions and courses finding their place in all the corners in the world, and this Copa de la Mujer is a clear example of that. The competition, organized by the Beach Soccer Division of the Asociación Paraguaya de Futbol (APF) enjoys a bigger participation season after season, and is now working for its fourth yearly edition.
