Benjiha (20), son of Brazilian legend Benjamin, will take part in the IV Copa Brasil as one of the key players of carioca giants Fluminense
Besides the tons of talent in display, the upcoming IV Copa Brasil will have a special attraction… The tournament, to be held in the Sambodromo of Manaus between 26th and 30th of March, will see the a new top-class challenge for Bejinha, son of one of the most important players in the history of our sport: Benjamin Pereira da Silva.
With 20 years old, Bejinha will make a part of the Fluminense ranks, in what means the first participation of the carioca giants in the competition. The young player, instead, did already take part of the competition last year, with Vasco da Gama. This time the challenge is even bigger, as he will be leading a very young squad in a competition with a lot of internationally experienced players…
“We know that it’s going to be difficult, as only four of our players did already play this competition last season. But we are going to fight and make things difficult. We are fit, quick and our best asset is that we never get tired of running and fighting“, he highlights.
The young attacker will need to walk a long way if he wants to level his father’s merits. Benjamin, 44 years and four times FIFA Beach Soccer World Champion, is the most capped player ever in the Brazilian Beach Soccer National Team, with 339 appearances, besides having clinched the adidas Silver Ball in two different World Cups (2006 and 2008).
This IV Copa Brasil will mean a new oportunity for him to keep growing, in a top-notch beach soccer competition involving ten of the best teams in Brazil, from seven different states: Flamengo (RJ), Vasco da Gama (RJ), Botafogo (RJ), Fluminense (RJ), Vila Velha (ES), Sampaio Corrêa (MA), Avaí (SC), Sport Recife (PE) and Vitória (BA), besides hosts Manaus EC (AM).
