The Aurinegro managed to get their two teams in the final of the Campeonato Metropolitano, with the Women side making it to the decider, too
Peñarol keep reigning in the Uruguayan sand. One of the two teams the Aurinegro club had in the Campeonato Metropolitano de Fútbol Playa, Peñarol El Clon, emerged as champions of the competition. Curiously enough, the Carboneros bent their sibling-team in the final, Peñarol Paddle Boards, a second squad CA Peñarol had put into the competition.
CA Peñarol is showing a great commitment to Beach Soccer, and their efforts seem to be paying off.
A tight 5-4 in the decider got Peñarol El Clon reediting the Uruguayan Championship, with some of their key players also capturing individual awards: Matías Cabrera shared the Top Scorer Award with Pablo Gutierrez and Matias Pennino (Peñarol Paddle Boards Uruguay), and Felipe Fernández was named Beat Goalkeeper of the competition.
The CA Peñarol Women side get to the final, too
The strong commitment of CA Peñarol with Beach Soccer does not stop here, though. The “Carboneros” have been also decidedly supporting Women Beach Soccer, and their representative made it all the way to the final in the Campeonato Metropolitano. Unfortunately for the Aurinegro side, Antidoping clinched the victory in the final, but this second place is a very praiseworthy result for the team.
