25 teams in the Portuguese Campeonato Nacional (2nd Division)

This year the competition breaks all previous participation records

The Portuguese Campeonato Nacional, which stands as the second division in the country (below Divisião Élite) kicked off this last Friday, 5th of September, with a record participation of 25 teams from four different regions (Bragança, Coimbra, Leiria, Lisboa).

The 25 clubs joining the competition are: Ancora Praia FC, Boavista FC, Casa Pia AC, CA Macedo Cavaleiros, CD Nacional, CF Os Belenenses, GD Os Nazarenos, GD Pescadores Costa Caparica; GD Sesimbra , SC União Torreense, SC Portugal, Varzim Sport Club, Vila Flor SC, São Domingos FC, CCD Minas Argozelo, GD Cachao, FC Mae Agua, CF Chelas, GD Macéense, ACD Sotão, Academia Futebol Ponte Lima, Academia Elite Sport AF, CCD Porto Mendo and AD Buarcos 2017.

Out of these 25 teams, 8 will earn the right to fight for promotion to the Elite Division.
