Seven teams will participate in the competition scheduled 16-21 May
WAFF confirmed that the West Asian Beach Soccer Federation Championship will finally take place in Saudi Arabia, between 16 and 21 May.
Seven teams will participate in the tournament, distributed into two groups: UAE, Kuwait, Lebanon and Oman were drawn in Group A, while Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Palestine fall in Group B. The two best-ranked teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals.
The competition is organised by WAFF in collaboration with Beach Soccer Worldwide, in the framework of the collaboration agreement between both entities.
It is worth mentioning that this event had a first edition nine years ago, when Iran, also hosts of the event, claimed the title in 2013. Oman, Palestine, Lebanon, Bahrain, Iraq and Qatar took part in that edition.
Oman came second in that event, while Palestine finished in third and Bahrain in fourth.
