Hosts remain perfect at the Independence Beach Soccer Cup Kyiv 2021 as Turkey earn first points
Hosts Ukraine became the lonely leaders of the Independence Beach Soccer Cup Kyiv 2021, following a new win today. The Ukrainians overcame Oman’s early hit to clinch three more points that confirm them atop of the table, coming into the last day of the competition with everything in their hands.
Yesterday’s 8-3 win over Turkey had already confirmed that the Ukrainian side keep in great shape after their wonderful performance in Nazaré, but Oman hit the sand in a very cheeky fashion, with Abdullah having the Asians ahead just one minute and a half into the game.
That did not make the hosts get any nervous, though, and Korniichuk amended things for them just five minutes later. The Omani kept resisting, and it was not until midway second period that Ukraine could finally step ahead, thanks to legend goalkeeper Vitaly Sydorenko.
Once with the lead in their hands, the hosts managed time and effort to keep things always under control and, just to prevent any late upset, Andriy Borsuk doubled the distance for the final 3-1. This win, and the three points it awards, make Ukraine the only side to have clinched all the points at stake in this Independence Beach Soccer Cup, although they will need to beat UAE tomorrow to make sure the trophy remains in Kyiv.
Goals: 0-1: Abdullah, min. 10 (1); 1-1: Korniichuk, min. 5 (1); 2-1: Sydorenko, min. 8(2); 3-1: Andriy Borsuk, min. 5(3)
Stunning goals have Turkey reacting against UAE
With two goals in the last minute of the game, the Turkish National team turned score around against their UAE homologues to win a game in which they had been behind in the score for most of the minutes. To get themselves to that point, though, Turkey utilized some brilliant goals that had them equalizing, once after the other, the Emirati efforts.
One of UAE’s scorers yesterday, Waleed Beshr, was in hand again today to open the score for the Emirati, who managed to stay ahead for the remainder of the period. Just two minutes into the second leg, though, Ömer found a brilliant way to balance things back, with a flying scissor that sent the ball into Humaid’s goal’s top corner for the 1-1. The Turkish delight would not last long, though, as the other of the Beshr twins, Ahmed, would sweep UAE ahead immediately afterwards, with a left-foot shoot that was decisively deflected by the sand and ended in the back of the Serkan’s net.
Another brilliant effort by Cem Keskin leveled things once again, but Ali made sure UAE left that second period with the score on their side, too.
It seemed UAE would not let their opponents escpae with the points, but Turkey found a way to change that. Seyih’s 3-3 equalized the advantage built by Al Mamzi’s lads, who this time seemed not able to step ahead again. Instead, two log shots by Efe and Baris ended up giving the points to Turkey, the first they earn in this Independence Beach Soccer Cup Kyiv 2021.
Goals: 1-0: Waleed Beshr, min. (1); 1-1: Ömer, min. 10 (2); 2-1: Ahmed Beshr, min. 9 (2); 2-2: Cem Keskin, min. (2); 3-2: Ali, min. 2 (2);3-3: Seyih, min. 9(3); 3-4: Efe, min. 1 (3); 3-5: Baris, min. 0 (3)
