The World Beach Games – Qualifier El Salvador was kicked off today with the official press conference
The President of INDES (Instituto Nacional de los Deportes de El Salvador), Yamil Bukele, Morena Valdez, Minister of Tourism of El Salvador, Guillermo Hasbun, CIFCO President, Josep Ponset, BSWW Director of Competitions, Juan Pablo Herrera, FESFUT (El Salvador FA) Vicepresident and the National coaches of the Men’s and Women’s Salvadoran National Teams, Rudis Gallo and Elías Ramírez, sat the opening press conference for this coming World Beach Games – Qualifier El Salvador, held this morning at the CIFCO arena, home to the competition.
During the press conference it was made clear that this is the beginning of a new era for beach soccer in El Salvador. “We strongly believe in the power of this sport, in this one coming is only the first chapter of many more to come“, as Yamil Bukele, President of the INDES, explained.
“This event also means the first ever appearance of our Women’s National Team, something very relevant to us, because we firmly believe in promoting and empowering women’s sports in our country. This is the way to go“, he added.
In turn, Morena Valdez, Minister of Tourism of El Salvador, highlighted the important opportunity this event offers to show El Salvador to the world. “Sports, and such a big event like this, give the country a great chance to send a message to the world, and we are willing to make the most of it”.
In the sportive field, Rudis Gallo explained the high expectations the team have ahead this competition. “We have been training a lot, the team is well prepared, and we want to play our role as one of the main favourites. Our only idea is to secure a ticket to the World Beach Games“.
