Following their perfect performance in the Moscow qualifier, Russia clinch July’s Mover of the Month title
The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2019 – Europe Qualifier Moscow was dominated by the hosts Russia, who leapfrog Portugal to rise to second in the Official World Ranking.
Mikhail Likhachev’s men conceded just 10 goals in eight games, taking victory after victory to cruise to the top of the podium in their home event.
In doing so they qualified for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2019 in Paraguay along with Italy, Switzerland, Belarus and Portugal.
Only Brazil are ahead of them in the World Ranking, as Russia knock Portugal into third, who suffered a disappointing campaign but scraped a place at the global showdown.
European champions Italy made it all the way to the final and their strong performance saw them jump two spots into fourth, pushing IR Iran and Paraguay down a spot each.
Belarus secured an historic first-time qualification to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup and in doing so, shot up the table by 11 places into 17th.
Kazakhstan and Moldova’s participation in the qualifier saw them move up by 11 and 10 places, while Saudi Arabia’s grand return to beach soccer saw the hosts of the NEOM Beach Soccer Cup jump a huge 20 places into 94th.
