The Pontini bend Viareggio to round a wonderful season, adding the Serie A title to the Coppa d’Italia
ASD Terracina clinched their third Scudetto this last Sunday, following a stout win over Viareggio in the Serie A Finals held in Lignano Sabbiadoro. The Pontini claimed the Italian crown back, precisely against the same opponents they won the last one in 2012, their second trophy. The white and blue round a wonderful year, in which they have ruled the Italian Beach Soccer panorama claiming both the Serie A nd the Coppa Italia.
The contribution of Brazilian star Fernando DDI, with three goals, and Italian target man Paolo Palmacci, with two, was key for Del Duca’s side. Vareggio, with Italian internationals such as Gabriele Gori, Simone Marinai and Dario Ramacciotti, could not counteract the Terracinese powder, and end as Italian runner-up for the second time.
In the fight for the third place, Catania got rid of Happy Car Sambenedettese, defending Serie A champions, in a pretty authoritative fashion. The Sicilian, despite not being able to clinch the title, are showing great performances lately, and will close this season as the runners up of both the Coppa Italia, the Euro Winners Cup and with a third place in the Italian National League.
