Swiss beach soccer league growing

The Suzuki Swiss Beach Soccer League is integrating more and more successful categories into their already established base

One of the most respected and longest running leagues in the world is continuing to improve and exhibit forward thinking. The Swiss have a powerhouse of a National Selection and that is in no small part due to their National League. The league continually produces players for the Nati and there is nothing slowing them down, on the contrary, they are building a bigger and bigger base.

The expansion ion in 2015 begins with a Under-17, Under-12, and Under-8 Divisions. All of these divisions will be incorporated into the already established events and with the high interest in beach soccer across Switzerland, there will be no shortage of players and great talent. In addition to the division, there are also more stadiums and pitches being erected across this beach soccer hungry country.

The Swiss League already has a Premier Division, a Challenge Division, and a Women’s Division. The Challenge Division is the second division of the league, as teams can be relegated from the Premier Division and subsequently promoted as well. The Premier, Challenge, and Women’s Divisions also include seasonal Cups. The league has a permanent stadium in Spiez, and they currently hold 10-15 events per season.

If you did not see the exponential growth of the sport this past season, then this Swiss boom is just one small example of the beach soccer movement that is sweeping the globe. These add-ons will only enhance the sport, not just within the confines of Switzerland but also across the world. The league expansion comes at a perfect time as Europe is also poised to host the next FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Portugal 2015 and any exposure to the crown jewel of the sport to the youth will be well served.
