Vasco da Gama, Tri-Campeão of the Copa Libertadores!

The Carioca side clinch their third continental crown following a stunning comeback over Cerro Porteño

Vasco da Gama got the Copa Libertadores throne back this past night, following an amazing 7-5 win over Paraguayan champions Cerro Porteño in the final of the competition, held at the stadium of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, future home of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Paraguay 2019. 

Despite the hosts got a consistent advantage during the first stages of the game, Vasco da Gama knew how two make the most of the Paraguayan star Carlos Carballo’s expulsion due to double yellow card and began climbing back. 

After getting to the final stage with the score tied at 5, Fabio Costa’s men managed to seize the win thanks to the goals by Jordan Soares and Antonio.

With three Copa Libertadores in their records the Brazilian side extend their reign in the South American panorama. 

 

Acassuso seize bronze

Argentinean champions Club Atlético Acassuso ended up in the third position thanks to a tight 7-6 win over Venezuela champions Fundación Monagas BS in a game in which they had to come back from a 6-3 disadvantage.
