One of the world’s top beach soccer youth events will take place in Figueira da Foz
A beach soccer season wouldn’t be complete without an edition of one of the most important youth tournaments in the world, the Madjer Cup.
Named after the Portuguese star, twice winner of both the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup and world’s Best Player award, the fourth edition of the competition is set to return this summer, between 15 and 17 July.
The games will be played in Figueira da Foz, Portugal, and will see clubs from across the world compete for the titles of the two categories, Under 18 and Under 16.
The defending champions of the event are Italian club Lazio (U18) and local Portuguese side ACD Satao (U16).
History of the Event
History was made on 22 June 2018 when 16 teams representing El Salvador, Italy, Portugal, Spain, the UK, and the United States met on the golden beaches of Portugal to define a new beginning for the sport of youth beach soccer and international competition. In that moment, the first Madjer Youth Beach Soccer Cup was formed and forever changed the lives of everyone. Due to its tremendous success, a second event was held the following year, featuring more teams and more countries represented as Poland joined the competition.
This incredible competition is the perfect venue to unite and showcase the best youth players from around the globe, who represent the future professional and national team players of this exciting sport. This is the absolute highest level of competitive youth beach soccer worldwide and will be hosted at one of the premiere sports beaches in the world, located in Figueira da Foz, Portugal.
The Madjer Cup is one of the only youth beach soccer competition sanctioned and approved by Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW), the FIFA designated, organising body for the sport of beach soccer.
