President Fernando Gomes says that “his winning culture will help the FPF build a brighter future”
Madjer has joined the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) as the new beach soccer coordinator, and will take care of the promotion and development of the sport in the country, as well as being the FPF representative in all competitions the Portuguese National time is present.
After 583 games for the Equipa das Quinas, and 1082 goals, Madjer was considered by president Fernando Gomes a key asset for the structure of the Portuguese Football organism, and after the playing career of the legendary captain came to an end, his place was within the FPF structure:
“We want the best professionals to work at FPF. We have always had a very demanding recruiting policy, and we know, for all what we have lived together, that Madjer will bring in his new functions everything he got the Portuguese supporters used to when inside the pitch: professionalism, rigour humility, commitment and excellency. We are also sure that his “winning culture” and self-exigency, as per his experience and personal characteristics, will be very relevant for the future we want to build at the FPF“, the FPF president said.
In turn, Madjer highlighted how honoured and excited he feels after this appointment: “I accepted the FPF president’s proposal with a great sense of responsibility. I cannot hide that working at FPF after my retirement always was my objective. I feel at home, this is my family since many years ago and it is an organiation in which I always felt valued and well-considered. I would like to take the chance to thank everybody for this opportunity and restate that I will keep giving Portugal my very best, every day, so that we can achieve ever bigger successes and to keep reinforcing the national football. I would also like to insist in my gratitude to Sporting CP for all these years of esteem and respect, both on and off the pitch“, he said.
