Levante and Playas de San Javier win Spanish leagues

A replay of the women’s EWC final and Levante’s battle against Recreativo Huelva decided the 2022 titles

Levante needed extra time to see off finalists Recreativo Huelva at the final phase of the Spanish national beach soccer league, while in a repeat of the European championship title, the women’s clubs AIS Playas de San Javier and Terrassa Bonaire went head to head.

It was the Playas de San Javier who came out on top this time, after falling to the Catalan club in the Euro Winners Cup less than a month ago, winning by a score of three goals to two. Strikes from Carmen, Laia and María were just enough to seal the national league title.

The men’s final was also a tight affair, as the three periods of normal time finished with the score at 5-5. However, a winner did come for the Granotes, who clinched the 2022 Spanish title by the narrowest of margins.

The finals were played on Sunday 10 July at the Cadiz Arena in Cadiz.
