The city Mayor, Oleksander Popov, met the BSWW representatives last weekend to highlight the interest the city has in the sport
Beach Soccer has left a great footprint in Kiev. The Euro Beach Soccer League stage held in the Ukrainian capital last weekend was a new confirmation that the city and its inhabitants love beach soccer.
During this last competition, the Mayor Oleksander Popov met Gabino Renales (Beach Soccer Worldwide General Manager) and some other representatives to transfer them the future plans the city has regarding the sport, and how strong the relationship between beach soccer and the Ukrainian capital is set to grow.
Moreover, Popov also admitted the interest the Ukrainian capital has in joining the bidding process to host the 2017 edition of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
With a terribly competitive National Team, an excellent National Championship (Griffin came second in the last Euro Winners Cup 2013) and laudable facilities, Ukraine is one of Beach Soccer?s homes, and top-flight competitions will keep on travelling to its soils, after the excellent experiences of last season?s BSWW Tour event and this year?s Euro Beach Soccer League stage.
