Kfar-Saba rose as the new Israel Beach Soccer Champions after their 5-3 victory to Netanya Diamonds in a packed Burger Ranch Arena. Although the latter were considered the favourites for the final triumph, since most of their players, together with the coach, are a significant part of the National Team (Liron Fertuk, Adam Lam, Kobby Hasan, Kobby Badash…), they were left behind on the doors to the Cup for a second consecutive year.
There was a moment for the nostalgia amid the “Kidmat Eden” celebrations, since that last match meant the last one in the Kfar-Saba’s Captain career, Oren Mucharer. The 39-years-old footballer had the sweetest farewell, though, since this last crown makes him an Israeli recordman, having achieved three Championships with three different teams (Hadera, Petach Tiqwa and Kfar Saba).
After lifting the Cup, Mucharer wanted to remember all those who have supported him in such a long and successful path, as well as assured being more than prepared for new challenges: “I’ll turn 40 next month and now I’m ready to step on for my next stage in life as a coach. I would like to thank all of the fans that have given me strength all of my live”, he said.
As the best of appetizers for this exciting final, the 2500 spectators that brought the best imaginable beach soccer atmosphere could also enjoy the first Female Beach Soccer showdown, between Petach-Tiqwa and Hadera. 7-4 at the end of the game gave the Petach-Tiqwa girls the Cup that entitled them as the “Queens of the Beach”.
