The blue side defeated defending champions Areguá in the final, following a stunning performance by International Pedro Morán
Paraguay crowned a new Beach Soccer champions this last weekend. Itauguá beat defending champions Areguá (9-5) in the final of the National League, held at Playa san José in Encarnación, to claim the fifth edition of the championship.
Much credit to be put on Guaraní International Pedro Moran, who steered his teammates to the national glory with an outstanding performance in the final: No less than eight goals fell on the forward’s counter.
Itauguá did not have an easy path to the final, either, as in the semifinals stage, fate had them taking on another of the Paraguayan Champions, and hosts of this year’s competition, Encarnación.
That was not the last bad news for Encarnación, indeed, as Centenario prevailed in the game for the third place, following a tight 3-2.
