Two consistent wins have the “Rubronegro” and the Paraguayan Champions ahead at the Clubs Challenger Cup 2019
The opening day at the Clubs Challenger Cup São Sebastião 2019 did not let anybody down. The clash between these four South American giants brought great action, drama and, as everyone could expect, an electric fight at every single second of the two games of the day.
Cerro Porteño became the first leader of the competition following a 10-6 win over Argentinean Rosario Central. Paraguayan International striker, Pablo Benítez Cáceres became the main protagonist of the game, with a hat-trick that gets him on top of the scorers list as well.
In the second game of the day, Flamengo edged Club Libertad de Asunción to grasp the first points at stake and join Cerro Porteño atop of the table in São Sebastião.
Although the Paraguayan team resisted Flamengo’s push for the first two periods, even getting to the final of the first period commanding the score 2-1, the third period belonged to the Carioca, with Brazil internationals Thanger, Thyago and Igor (who rounded his particular hat-trick) sealed the win for ‘Fla’.
After the thrilling opening day, the action goes on today with two more games. Rosario Central and Libertad will clash for their first points (1:30 pm Brazil time), followed by the match facing the two eventual leaders of the table, Flamengo and Cerro Porteño.
