Hosts fall to late Oman winner on Morocco Beach Soccer Cup day one as Dutch beat Algeria
The Morocco Beach Soccer Cup returns to Agadir for another year this weekend, as Netherlands kicked off their campaign with a win against Algeria and hosts miss out to Oman.
After a goalless first period, Algeria took the lead against Netherlands when Kadri netted at the match’s midway point. However, the Dutch equalised before the second period finished, and in the third they scored two more to turn the match around and clinch the three points.
The hosts’ opening match was against Oman, and a brace from Nassim Elhadaqui wasn’t enough to deny the visitors, as Eid converted a late winner with just two minutes on the clock.
Netherlands occupy the group topspot on goal difference, with Oman in second and Morocco and Algeria in third and fourth.
