Between November 7th and 7th, the biggest amount of beach soccer knowledge got together in Dubai to foster the growth of the sport even further
Dubai became the epicenter of all beach soccer last week. Besides the Samsung Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup Dubai 2014, the Beach Soccer Stars night and the FIFA Beach Soccer Workshop, FIFA and Beach Soccer Worldwide jointly organized a FIFA Beach Soccer Instructors seminar.
Between November 4th and November 7th, the most talented beach soccer minds in the world came together for a very useful meeting. The seminar was conducted by FIFA Develeopment representatives Jürg Nepfer and Brent Rahim, together with AFC Development manager Yousuf Al Serkal. Besides, the different confederations were also represented by Toohey Paul (OFC), Hugo Salcedo (CONCACAF) and Damian Dupiellet (CONMEBOL)
Topics such as “how to be a FIFA instructor”, the roles and responsibilities of a FIFA instructor, the new Beach Soccer coaching manual, Beach Soccer Technical Study Group analysis and new amendments to the Beach Soccer laws of the game were among some of the topics discussed.
Furthermore, on 8 November, 2014 the FIFA instructors were invited to attend the second day of a two day workshop (7 to 8 November) where all the prominent figures of Beach Soccer had open discussions on topics such as the club level of Beach Soccer, FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Portugal 2015, and maturity of the sport, among others, were discussed, showcasing the sport’s rapid development and powerful influence on the global scale, across all the football modalities.
“The game today is better than a year ago, but we need to make the game even better”, said Joan Cusco, BSWW Executive Vice President and FIFA Beach Soccer Committee Member at the opening.
FIFA management was present of course and shared even more encouraging words, “Together we are making this sport the fastest growing sport in the world”, said Jaime Yarza, FIFA Senior Manager Beach Soccer and Futsal Competitions.
