FIGC holds beach soccer instructors course

The Italian FA is training 10 beach soccer experts to structure a didactic body for future beach soccer courses

10 beach soccer experts, including current Italian national team coach Emiliano del Duca and his assistants Michele Leghissa and Paolo La Rocca, former internationals Francesco Corosiniti and Matteo Marrucci, also a FIFA Instructor, and other experienced Italian beach soccer coaches such as Nicola Lami, Stefano Santini, Oliviero Di Lorenzo, Mauro Siotto, or Massimiliano De Celis, are defining the future of beach soccer formation in Italy in a course organized by the FIGC.

In this course, held last week at the Centro di Preparazione Olimpica di Tirrenia, the beach soccer professionals will debate and structure the future teaching strategy and materials of the Technical Department at the Italian National FA.

The sessions over this past week ranged from the theory in the classroom, to practical learning on the field of play, to accomplish a 360º perspective to better inform the didactic approaches to be taken in the coming courses.

The president of the Technical Department of the FIGC, Demetrio Albertini, highlighted the strong commitment by all the professionals and the FA in this project. “With this project , the FIGC wants to restate our determination in making beach soccer, a key discipline in our football world, grow. Our objective is to provide the tools and instruments to ‘teach the teachers’ and, consequently, make our players our players”, he said.
