Euro Winners Cup semi-finals defined in Nazaré

Quarter-finals
Recreativo de Huelva win 5–3 against ASD Napoli.
First blood went to Napoli as Antonio slotted the ball home to put his side 1-0 up. Huelva equalised with six minutes left to play as Gerlan scored to take a 1-1 scoreline into the second period.

The second period kicked off and within 54 seconds, Huelva went in front courtesy of Suli. Napoli scored to level the game as Kuman slotted the ball in from close range. The level pegging didn’t last long as Cassano put Huelva back in control. Straight from kick off Zurlo levelled again for Napoli.

The final period and Pedro scored to put Huelva back in front within the first three seconds. The lead was increased by two as Cassano scored to place them into the semi finals of the Euro Winners Cup.

Lenergy Pisa BS win 4-3 against Real Münster.
The first period kicked off was a tight fight between the two clubs and it took until the fifth minute for the goalscoring to be broken and it went the way of Pisa as Edson Hulk scored to give them a 1-0 lead going into the second period.

The second period and Pisa went 2-0 up due to an own goal by Biermann as it hits him from the corner and drops in over the keeper. Straight from kick off the deficit is halved as Dmais scored a rocket past the goalkeeper of Pisa. An equaliser as Hodel pounced on a miscommunication between goalkeeper and defender to put the ball into the net. The second period got even better for Real Münster as Karolak ripped a volley from distance and put the German side in front after being 2-0 down. The final seconds of the period and Edson Hulk levels the game for Pisa.

It was that man Edson Hulk who put Pisa back in front completing his hat trick after slotting the ball through the keepers’ legs. The game ended with Pisa coming out victorious. Real Münster’s comeback wasn’t enough for the German team.

SC Braga win 7-5 against TSOR.
The goal scoring came as Filipe Silva scored an early goal putting Braga ahead. With four minutes remaining it was 2-0 to Braga courtesy of Bokinha. Drozd halved the scoreline with a goal for TSOR.

The second period and Brilhante extended Braga’s lead to two goals. TSOR scored three quick goals and they all came from Hardzetski to make it his hat trick and giving TSOR the lead going into the final 12 minutes of the game.

The final period and Bê Martins equalised within one minute. Avgustov the TSOR goalkeeper retook the lead for TSOR with seven minutes remaining. 15 seconds later and Alves equalised once again for Braga. Braga took the lead through Filipe Silva. The final minute of the game and it was Filipe Silva once again to put them into the semi-finals.

ACD O Sótão win 8-7 against Falfala KQ BSC.

The goalscoring in the first period was kicked off with a close-range free kick by Ott and Falfala. With just under seven minutes remaining and Chiky Ardil slammed home his own free kick to level the game for Sótāo. Falfala retook the lead as Rodrigo put the ball in to make it 2-1 to the Israeli side. Less than one minute left and Chiky Ardil scored his second and Sótāo’s second to equalise. With 19 seconds to play, Jabareen put Falfala back in front however the scoring wasn’t done there. Chiky Ardil scored his hat trick to equalise for the second time and taking a 3-3 draw into the second period.

The second period and a breakthrough for Falfala as Moreb puts them in front with eight minutes left to play. 30 seconds after and Jordan fires home for Sótāo as he struck a free kick into the top left-hand corner to once again level the game at 4-4. Sótāo took the lead with a free kick courtesy of Coimbra. The local side Sótāo, took a 5-4 lead into the final 12 minutes of the game.

The final 12 minutes and Sótāo opened a two-goal lead over the reigning champions. The goal came from Coimbra as he swivelled and put the ball into the net, wrong footing the keeper. Straight from the kick off and Falfala pulled a goal back through Rodrigo.

With two minutes remaining, Moreb equalised to make the scoreline 6-6. The game was level at the final whistle so extra time was needed.
In extra time, Chiky Ardil scored a close-range free kick to put Sótāo ahead with one minute left on the clock. 48 seconds left on the clock and Eliott equalised once again for Falfala. The scoreline is locked in at 7-7. 10 seconds on the clock and surely a winner as Chiky Ardil scored his fifth of the game to make it 8-7 to Sótāo.

The game ended and the reigning champions, Falfala are out! Sótāo put their name into the semi finals of the Euro winners cup 2024 after an amazing end to end game.
