England Beach Soccer will be hosting the event, yearly, with several categories including women teams
England Beach Soccer (EBS) recently announced the confirmation that an agreement has been reached with Beach Promotions Ltd (BP) that will ensure the future funding of a national championship tournament annually for the next 5 years. EBS working in partnership with BP will begin to develop both regional and national championships helping to raise grass roots awareness of Beach Soccer nationally.
David Jones ?CEO? of EBS states “In order to raise the standard of the national team it was essential to form a National Championship tournament commencing in 2013. There are a good number of players currently playing this exciting small sided form of football, but we are still only scratching at the tip of the iceberg. Each year we get a number of enquiries from people all over the UK asking as to how they can get involved in the sport. By holding a National Championship each year I fully expect EBS and BP to be able increase substantially Regional Promoter interest in Beach Soccer that will satisfy this demand. With more people involved in the sport, then it is only natural to assume that we can raise the standard of the national team sufficiently and qualify for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Finals for the first time in our history“
Gary Shepherd ?CEO? of BP stated ?We are extremely proud to have committed to the England National side and view this as the first of many future steps to achieving the goal of England being represented in a World Cup Final. David and I have been working together with our investors to achieve a national structured league championships as well as regional leagues at grass roots level and we will continue to work closely with EBS throughout the next 5 years to promote and sponsor ?Beach Soccer? throughout the UK and Internationally. There is also the long term view that one day Beach Soccer will become part of the Olympics with its obvious appeal similar to that which was witnessed with Beach Volleyball in London this summer.”
