BSWW Director of Events, Josep Ponset, discussed with Croatian FA Executive Director, Tomislav Svetina, the future of beach soccer in the country
Croatia is determined to embrace beach soccer, and the first movements are already taking place at the HNS (Croatian Football Federation). The plans of the National Football Association are not only launching a National Football Team but also becoming a regular international events venue for the coming seasons.
With this idea in mind, and in order to provide guidance and advice to the HNS, a set of meetings were held this week between BSWW Director of Competitions, Josep Ponset, and top representatives of the Croatian Football Federation, with the Executive Director, Tomislav Svetina, ahead.
“The HNS is fully committed in developing beach soccer. After the first steps at a national level, we want to keep growing and reach for an international status through our National Team and International events. We are happy with the support from Beach Soccer Worldwide, and together with them we will be making sure the projection of the Croatian beach soccer keeps growing in a solid and steady way” the Executive Director, Tomislav Svetina, said.
In turn, Josep Ponset, BSWW Director of Events, highlighted the potential the country has and all the possibilities they have in front of them. “Croatia is a country naturally gifted for beach soccer, not only because it is a top-class football country, but also because it treasures thousands of coastline kilometers, with stunning beaches. They have everything it takes to become a key player in the beach soccer world, and we are glad that the National Football Association is determined to take advantage of that. We are sure many great things will happen soon.“, he said.
Together with Svetina and Ponset, different executives of the Federation took part in the meetings, like Neven Sprajcer, Competitions Coordinator of the Croatian Football Federation, Dragan Dukanovic, Beach soccer Technical Secretary for the Croatian Football Federation, and Boris Durlen, 2nd Vicechairman of the UEFA Futsal and Beach Soccer Commission.
