A narrow 2-1 victory over Peñarol make the Auriverde the national champions
Cerrito are the new Uruguayan national beach soccer champions, after upsetting Peñarol at the final of the championship, held yesterday evening at the Estadio Arenas del Plata in Montevideo.
A tight 2-1 had the Auriverde prevailing over the favourites, Peñarol, champions of the Torneo Apertura.
Cerrito secured their chance of fighting for the Uruguayan national crown during the week, securing the Torneo Clausura after a narrow 5-4 win over Uruguay Montevideo.
