A 6-0 win over Malvin in the last game had the defending champions retain the crown
CA Bellavista claimed back to back Uruguayan Torneo Aperturas, following a win over Malvin in the last matchday of the competition, held yesterday at the Estadio Arenas del Plata, in Montevideo’s Playa Pocitos.
The two last champions of the Uruguay National Beach Soccer Championship squared off yesterday in that fifth matchday of the Torneo Apertura, acknowledging that the win would decide the national championship, and Bellavista wanted to make things very clear.
The goals by Gonza (3), Andrés, Miranda and Mora had Francisco Rodríguez’s lads storming past Malvin to seize silverware for the second consecutive year.
The Torneo Clausura, beginning on Thursday, will determine the other finalist of the National Championship, unless Bellavista prevails, in which case would automatically be crowned as Uruguayan Champions again.
