This is the story of Al Seyni Ndiaye one of Africa’s most decorated beach soccer stars
Meet Al Seyni Ndiaye, goalkeeper of the Senegalese national team.
Born on December 31st 1989 in the Senegalese capital, Dakar, Al Seyni is the youngest of three children.
For the prolific shot stopper, his childhood was dedicated to getting an education as well as his love of sport.
In 2007, at the tender age of 17, Al Seyni participated in a local beach soccer tournament in Dakar and was scouted by the national federation. He was selected to be part of the national team and has been from that moment on.
The keeper currently plays the Dakar league of beach soccer (which is played all year round) with Vision Sport and is preparing to go one step further in the game, and earn his Beach Soccer coaching badges.
Here are some of his best achievements…
– Has participated in six FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups, reaching the Quarter Finals three times!
– Made World Cup debut in Rio de Janeiro 2007 at just 17 years old!
– Has won eight African Cups: Durban 2007, 2008, 2009, Casablanca 2011, El Jadida 2013, Seychelles 2015, Nigeria 2016, Egypt 2018.
– Five-time African champion
– Winner of five Best Goalkeeper awards
– Represented FC Barcelona in the Club Mundialito of 2012
– RealMünster Player of the German League in 2018
On top of all that, in winning the CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations in December 2018, Senegal sealed yet another place in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, making Paraguay 2019 Al Seyni Ndiaye’s seventh edition!
