Just three names from the 12 nominated goalkeepers remain in the race
There are three names left in the battle for the title of Best Goalkeeper in 2021, following the closing of the voting. Beach soccer coaches and captains of the national teams were the ones casting the votes, and the winner of the award will be revealed at the Beach Soccer Stars gala in Dubai on Saturday 6 November.
The final three are:
Stanislav Kosharnyi (RUS)
Al Seyni N´Diaye (SEN)
Eliott Mounoud (SUI)
Kosharnyi has burst onto the beach soccer scene in recent years, challenging the previous winner of the Best Goalkeeper award, Maksim Chuzhkov, for the position in the Russian national team. The young keeper played a defining role in Russia’s conquering of the beach soccer world, winning their third world title on home sand in August.
Al Senyi becomes the first African player to be nominated in the final three goalkeepers. His spectacular performance in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup saw Senegal finish in a record-fourth position in the world championship. He has won the African Beach Soccer Cup of Nations on six occasions and has also been named the competition’s Best Goalkeeper six times.
Eliott, like his fellow final-three nominees, was a crucial part in the Swiss FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup campaign, winning the Golden Glove and assisting Angelo Schirinzi’s side to a bronze medal. His nomination means that Eliott is the first player from Switzerland to reach the final three of the Best Goalkeeper award.
None of the three goalkeepers have been nominated for the award previously, therefore we are guaranteed a new name on the list of winners.
