BSWW creates a special prize in the memory of former Presidente da Camara Municipal of Figueira da Foz, instrumental in bringing beach soccer back to the city
The season finale in Figueira da Foz will also have another very special moment, with the inclusion of the João Ataíde Fair Play Award.
This prize, created in the memory of former Presidente da Camara Municipal of Figueira da Foz and Secretary of State João Ataíde das Neves, will award a very meaningful moment for the continental season, including both clubs and national team competitions, that showcases the fair play, camaraderie and respect beach soccer is known for around the globe.
Joan Cusco, president of BSWW: “João was a truly inspirational person to all of us. His passion and dedication were absolutely exemplary, and the beach soccer family were lucky to consider him a true friend. His role in bringing top-flight beach soccer to Figueira was instrumental, and he will always have a strong presence in our beach soccer universe. Very few people in the world embody the spirit of Fair Play like João did, and this is why we decided to name this trophy after him.”
