BSWW Ambassadors bring joy to Nazaré’s Shelter Children

Andrea Miron, Suli Batis, Terekh, and others lead an inspiring initiative during the Euro Winners Cup 2025 in Nazaré

During the closing weekend of the Euro Winners Cup 2025, the Beach Soccer Foundation continued a heartwarming tradition by inviting children from the Confraria de Nossa Senhora da Nazaré shelter house to join the tournaments, offering them a day of excitement and inspiration with talents from around the world.

This initiative has now become a regular social responsibility on BSWW’s annual calendar in Nazaré, welcoming kids with open arms, who enjoyed front-row seats to watch exhilarating matches and took part in beachside activities tailored just for them, including games and playful moments of their own. This initiative reflects the Beach Soccer Foundation’s broader mission to use beach soccer as a tool for community support and youth development. Raquel Gamez, Director of the Beach Soccer Foundation, emphasised the importance of the program, stating,

“Young people are the future and, as we are doing in our other missions through the Beach Soccer Foundation, we must look after our future.”
“This medium of sport is an ideal way to inspire the next generation and give them opportunities to succeed. That is what we do in beach soccer.” – Raquel Gamez.

At the heart of this special program are the BSWW Ambassadors, making real magic happen. This is a small group of elite beach soccer players who bring star power and warmth to the event. This year, the lineup included Agostina Tasinazzo, Barbara Colodetti, Andrea Miron, Rebecca Baron, Suli Batis, Fabianna Vecchione, and Anastasiia Terekh. The Ambassadors didn’t just stop at waving from afar. They joined the kids for a friendly kick-around at Nazaré’s Estádio do Viveiro – Jordan Santos. For the children, meeting their heroes up close was a thrilling highlight, sparking laughter and creating memories to cherish. This was all under the watchful eye of David Mames, a dedicated coach whose passion for beach soccer extends beyond the scoreboard—blending his love for the sport with a commitment to making a positive difference.

The Beach Soccer Foundation’s ongoing efforts demonstrate how sports can transcend competition, fostering a sense of community support. As the Euro Winners Cup 2025 wrapped up with the dramatic finals, the true triumph was evident in the beaming faces of the shelter children from the Confraria de Nossa Senhora da Nazaré, a cherished local institution rooted in the community’s cultural and charitable spirit. While historically tied to the devotion of Our Lady of Nazaré, it also serves as a beacon of hope for children in need, providing care and support to those facing challenging circumstances.

For these kids, an invitation to a world-class beach soccer event is more than just an outing. It’s a rare chance to experience joy and connect with a broader world right there in Nazaré.
