Georgia responded in the second period with Shamiladze levelling the score, before an own goal from Estonia handed the hosts a 2–1 advantage going into the final period.
Makharadze added a third for Georgia in the closing period, and although Lepik pulled one back for Estonia, it wasn’t enough to deny the hosts a hard-fought opening win.
Group B
Czechia win 5–4 on penalties against Germany, after a 4–4 draw.
Czechia claimed victory on penalties after playing out a thrilling 4–4 draw against Germany in their opening group B fixture. The game was evenly balanced from the start, with Trampota and Vales scoring for Czechia, while Widmann and Oglil responded for Germany in the first period.

Both teams continued to trade goals in the second, with Salak and Trampota again on target for Czechia, while Kaufmann and Schulte netted for Germany to keep the game tied at 4–4 going into the final stretch.
Despite chances at both ends, neither side could break the deadlock in the third period or extra time. Czechia then held their nerve in the shootout, edging Germany 5–4 to claim a point from the encounter.
Belarus win 12–1 against Türkiye
Belarus delivered a commanding performance in their Group B opener against Türkiye. The Belarusians took early control, storming to a 5–0 lead in the first period with goals from Chaikouski, Piatrouski, Bryshtsel, and Bokach.
