The three-day event will take place between 9th and 11th June at Virginia Beach
This weekend, Virginia beach will take centre stage for beach soccer in the USA as the 29th annual Ferguson North American Sand Soccer Championships is set to kick-off shortly. The tournament will be huge, as over 750 teams will compete, players from a huge range of age groups will be taking part, and the greatest spectacle of the weekend will be the Men’s and Women’s U.S. Open Championships, where elite professional teams and players from around the world will battle it out for victory on the American sands.
NASSC Executive Director, Lauren Bland, was delighted to be hosting this event, expressing that she was “excited to welcome thousands of families and friends to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront for our favorite weekend of the year. She continued, by urging fans to “come on down to the Oceanfront and watch some of the best sand soccer talent around the globe in your backyard.”
Following this, Matt Whalen, U.S. Open Director was “proud to host another edition of NASSC’s flagship professional division, the U. S. Open.” Furthermore, he conveyed excitement for the competition, emphasising that “both men’s and women’s brackets are our most competitive in our event’s 29-year history and will surely showcase the best beach soccer our planet has to offer.”
The event will take place from 9th-11th June 2023, with the stadium located between 28th-29th Streets on the beach (2809 Atlantic Ave) and is free of charge to the public, with festival entertainment throughout the event.
