FIFA and Beach Soccer Worldwide hold a referee course in the framework of the European Qualifier, with the new laws of the game under study
Practice and study make perfection. This applies not only to athletes and players, but also to the referees. In this sense, FIFA and Beach Soccer Worldwide held a referee course in the framework of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2015 – Euro Qualifier Jesolo, targeting a faster response and a better joint understanding of the new laws of the game, and the implications they have on real game situations.
The course, involving the 16 top-ranked referees of the European continent, the FIFA Referee Coordinator Jesús Rubio, the Referee Coordinator of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2015 – European Qualifier Jesolo, Lakhdar Benchabane, and the FIFA Referee Instructors Serdar Akcer and Michele Conti, included both practical and theoretical lessons during two days.
Jesus Rubio, FIFA Referee Instructor, was really satisfied with the outcome of the course, which has proven to be an excellent support to the referees’ learning and improvement. “The level of the referees after the course has been notably better. The interpretation of the new rules has been done in a more uniform way. This kind of courses are really important to unify criteria, and to get a better joint understanding of the new situations that matches can bring“
