Hosts Netherlands have seen the Cup fly in the last minute of the final of this Crocs Challenge Cup 2010 taking place in The Hague. Turkey have not let the Dutch complete the party they began yesterday, with the brilliant last-breath victory over England, and have packed the Cup towards Istambul. Again, 2000 people cheered from the stands, no matter the windy cold weather, and enjoyed of a really exciting showdown. Unfortunately for them, there was no happy ending this time.
Van der Gaauw advanced his team in the score once, and did it again after Onur’s equalizer in the first period, which ended 2-2 due to new hit by Serhat. But things went just the opposite at the last 12 minutes.
Turkey were then the ones to take consecutive leads in the score. Netherlands, though, pushed by their crowd, achieved the equalizer twice. Unfortunately for them, they could not do it again when Tamer sent a free kick in only 40 seconds before the final whistle and got the Cup for the Ottoman.

Third place for the Azeri
Azerbaijan have got the third position in this Crocs Challenge Cup held in The Hague after beating England (2-5). Azeri squad made things too difficult for the English side yet in the first period, after four-goal run that almost finished the game. Guliyev and Baghirov raised the 2-0 in the first minute, and Baghirov again and Sultanov doubled Azerbaijan’s distance shortly before the first horn.
That was a really steep path for England National team. But they would not give up climbing it without trying, of course. Mitchell and Blake shortened the distance in the second period, but Zeylanov finished English expectations and restated the Azeri dominion today with the fifth hit for his side.
Goals: 0-1: Guliyev, min. 11 (1); 0-2: Baghirov, min. 11 (1); 0-3: Baghirov, min. 2 (1); 0-4: Sultanov, min. 1 (1); 1-4: Mitchell, min. 10 (2); 2-4: Blake, min. 5 (2); 2-5: Z. Zeynalov, min. 5 (3)
Last period boost gives Czech Republic the 5th place
Czech Republic snatched Germany the fifth place in this Crocs Challenge 2010 in the third quarter. Germans had been in command of the game almost all the time, but the final rush by the Czechs turned things upside down.
Germany found it difficult to neutralize the advantage that Czech Republic had achieved in the first minute of the game. But once Ulle managed the equalizer, The Mannshaft got the match into their control, although Maly leveled the score again after German second hit. From that moment on, second period fell absolutely on the German side, as Mari and Caique set clear.
But the third period gave way for the Czech uprising. Attempt after attempt, The Czech Republic National team knocked the German barrier down, to end the spectacular comeback that took them from 2-4 down to 5-4 up.
Goals: 1-0: Kovarik, min. 11 (1); 1-1: Ulle, min. 2 (2); 1-2: Ulle, min. 10 (1); 2-2: Maly, min. 8 (2); 2-3: Mari, min. 2 (2); 2-4: Caique, min. 2 (2); 3-4: Cibula, min. 9 (3); 4-4: Maly, min. 5 (3); 5-4: Steiskal, min. 3 (3).
Andorra gives Norway the wooden spoon
Andorra had been given signs that they were growing. Little by little, they were making things more and more difficult for the teams that faced them. Today, Norway has suffered all this improvement. Andorra has beaten the Nordic in a really mature mood, and has gained the 7th final position in this Crocs Challenge Cup 2010.
As already become usual, the Pyrenean were the first to score. Ok, they have turned it into something usual in the last games, both in this Crocs Challenge and in the Qualifier played last week in Bibione (Italy). But this time, the next steps of the story have been fairly different. Although Norway achieved the equalizer little afterwards, Andorrans did not lose their cool and stepped forward on the score.
And they did so not only once, nor twice. They did it every single time the Norwegian leveled the scoreboard, reaching the final stage 5-6 up and blocking all Norway’s paths to their goal to secure the victory and avoid this Crocs Challenge Cup wooden spoon.
