Al Nasr and Al Ahli both win in week 8 and look ahead to their week 9 pivotal matchup
The standings did not change between weeks 7 and 8 but they will after week 9 with the two leaders set to clash next week. The energy was spectacular in the two stellar week 8 matches, and the competition looks to be even more intense as the season winds down. The pressure is building and players and fans alike can see that in the riveting action on the pitch.
Al Nasr first played Al Hamreya to start the weeks´ excitement. The league leaders struck first and they continued to score to make sure that their opponents could not get going or mount a comeback. When the final whistle blew Al Nasr had compiled 10 goals and only surrendered 2.
The second match was much closer in score as Al Ahli knew they needed to win to stay with Al Nasr in the standings. Third place team Al Wasl desperately wanted to win to gain ground with the front-runners. In the end, a hat-trick from Al Wasls´ Llorenç was not enough with Maestro Madjer of Al Ahli scoring four goals to help secure his teams´ victory, 7-5.
Al Hamreya may be in last place in the standings, they have a point of pride in what is becoming a runaway victory in the battle for most goals scored this season. Their own Saeed Saleh Naji has posted 17 goals and is six ahead of his closest competitor.
Do not fret, the season is far from over and as we all know, in Beach Soccer anything can happen. In fact, Al Nasr and Al Ahli will be playing each other for outright possession of 1st place, meaning Al Wasl and Al Hamreya will have the most to gain regardless of the outcome. Below is the schedule for next weeks´ matches:

– Al Hamreya vs Al Shabab: 16:45
