Bolivia upset hosts Peru, as Paraguay and Brazil storm past their opponents in the continental showdown kick-off
The Copa America Beach Soccer kick started yesterday with some surprising results and the favourites restating their hierarchy.
Brazil and Paraguay clinched two convincing wins in the first two games of the competition. Whereas the defending champions bent Colombia 7-2, the Albirroja stormed past Chile (10-1), with two hat-tricks by Edgar Barreto and Luis Ojeda.
In turn, Uruguay prevailed over an always combative Venezuela side, thanks to the effort by Gastón Laduche, with two goals, and Gonzalo Castel, who managed to counteract Muñoz’s opener for the Vinotinto.
In the last game of the day, Bolivia caught Peru by surprise and sealed the win in the extra time. Mauricio Eiffel, with his third goal of the evening grasped the points for La Verde in a game in which they always managed to equalize, once and again, the Peruvian advantages.
