Spring 2013 to see 1st edition of the battle between Europe?s National champs, after deal between BSWW and San Benedetto
The Beach Soccer Worldwide Euro Winners Cup came finally true, after the agreement signed this morning between BSWW and the Comune of San Benedetto del Tronto. With the presence of Ferdinando Arcopinto, from the Beach Soccer department of the Lega Nazionale Dilettanti, Gabino Renales, BSWW General Manager, and the Assessore allo Sport of the city, Marco Curzi, signed the deal which will have, for the first time the champions of the different European National Championships competing to become the best Club in Europe. The facilities built by the marchegian council at the Rivera delle Palme will host, next spring 2013, the tournament facing the best team in each country.
The Assessore allo Sport, Marco Curzi, pointed that “we finally fulfill this idea we have been working on for so much time. We have been expecting the Euro Winners Cup to finally become true, both for the importance of the event, but also for the good it will do to our city. Having the chance of hosting such an important competition, involving top teams from all the continent, is something we feel really proud of”.
In turn, Gabino Renales, Beach Soccer Worldwide General Manager, thanked the Comune of San Benedetto del Tronto back for “their support and absolute availability. We have always said that Italy is one of the most active countries in the world regarding our sport, and this is why we decided to build this tournament within its frontiers. The Lega Nazionale Dilettanti, together with the FIGC, is the responsible of one of the most outstanding National Championships in the Beach Soccer World, a reliable pillar in the growth of our sport, so we thought it made perfect sense to set this new competition here. They themselves suggested San Benedetto as the perfect venue for this event, and the city has only given us green lights to make this happen”.
Besides, Renales highlighted that “such a competition was a necessary step to take in the Beach Soccer calendar. With an increasing number of National Championships, and the everyday-higher competitiveness in all of them, it was bound to have such a competition linking them up and taking them to an international scope. It was something the sport itself was demanding”.
