Beach Soccer kicks off this afternoon (Peru time) as one of the leading sports in the Juegos Bolivarianos de Playa (1st-11th Nov)
Beach Soccer will have its bright opening today in Lima (Peru), playing its outstanding role in the Juegos Bolivarianos de Playa. The discipline, the most anticipated by the supporters to its games, will have the Venezuela-Colombia raising the curtain to a competition involving eight CONCACAF and CONMEBOL National sides. Whereas hosts Peru will be accompanied in Group A by Ecuador, Paraguay and Dominican Republic, the Vinotinto and the Columbians were drawn into group B together with El Salvador and Guatemala.
Fourteen other sports take also part in the Juegos Bolivarianos de Playa, organized by the Organización Deportiva Bolivariana and the Comité Olímpico de Perú, and taking this year their first edition: Free-diving, Beach Rugby, Beach handball, Beach Volleyball, Surf, Canoeing, Waterskiing, Open Water Swimming, Triathlon, sailing, surfing, Beach Tennis, Sportive Fishing, and Rowing. Overall, up to eleven nations will have representation; namely: Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Panamá, Perú, El Salvador, Guatemala, Paraguay and Dominican Republic.
The whole Beach Soccer competition will be held at the Parque Temático Miraflores, Costa Verde, Miraflores (Perú), and the match schedule of theleague-stage of the competition goes as follows:
