The Tiki Toa beat Les Bleus 8-3 in the first of the three matches to take place this week. Next one, on Friday (5pm, Tahiti time)
Tahiti hit strong in their first match against the French National team. The Tiki Toa are undergoing a demanding training schedule, as they want to reach the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup they are hosting next September with considerable chances to play an outstanding role, and this preparation paid off first dividends yesterday at the Jardins de Paofai, with a laudable 8-3 win over Les Bleus.
France got ahead in the score midway first leg, through a penalty kick converted by Jéremy Basquaise, but The Polynesian reacted rather soon, changing things drastically with three hits by Naea Bennet, Angelo Tchen and Raimoana Bennet to make it 3-1.
The hosts kept dominant in the second stage, with Taiarui and Marama Amau bagging two more to minimize Fayos? attempt. Basquaise hit again in the opening of the last leg, but the French reaction was quickly suffocated by the Tahitians. Tearii Labaste, Teva Zaveroni and Naea Bennet again, crushed any chance François? lads could have to revert the course of the game.
Next game between French and Tahitians is to take place this coming Friday, at 5pm (Tahitian time, with a last one to take place on Saturday, the same day in which the Official Match Ball for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Tahiti 2013 will be presented.
